Chief Growth Officer
Dr. Rian Cho, DDS, serves as Chief Growth Officer of Paradigm Oral Health, where he leads the organization’s surgeon growth strategy, including surgeon recruitment, development, and de novo practice growth. His focus is on building an integrated pathway that connects exceptional surgeons with the mentorship, infrastructure, and resources needed to build successful practices and meaningful, long-term careers within Paradigm.
Before entering dentistry, Dr. Cho served in the United States Air Force, where he focused on logistics, wartime operations, and contingency planning. His military career included coordinating complex operations across hundreds of military and civilian organizations in a multinational environment—experiences that shaped his approach to leadership, preparation, adaptability, and execution.
Following his military service, Dr. Cho earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Following residency, Dr. Cho opened a de novo oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in North Carolina. He built the practice from the ground up with an emphasis on clinical excellence, digital technology, referral development, and patient experience, and subsequently expanded to a second location. The experience gave him firsthand insight into both the opportunities and challenges surgeons face when building a new practice.
Dr. Cho became increasingly involved in mentoring and coaching other de novo surgeons within Paradigm, helping them navigate the transition from training into practice and the clinical, operational, and leadership challenges that accompany early practice growth. He has since served in multiple surgeon leadership roles focused on de novo development, surgeon education, mentorship, marketing, and organizational growth.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Cho has developed experience in commercial real estate through the acquisition, development, and management of his own real estate investments. Combined with his background in strategic planning and logistics, this has given him a broad perspective on the interconnected decisions—from market selection and real estate to recruiting, mentorship, and operational execution—that influence the long-term success of a new practice.
As Chief Growth Officer, Dr. Cho brings these experiences together to oversee Paradigm’s surgeon growth pathway from recruitment through sustainable practice development. He believes successful growth begins with finding exceptional surgeons, understanding their individual goals, and surrounding them with the right people, systems, data, and resources early in their careers. His goal is to build a disciplined and scalable growth model that preserves surgeon leadership, clinical excellence, and the entrepreneurial spirit at the foundation of Paradigm—always keeping the needs of patients first while creating the foundation for meaningful and fulfilling careers for the next generation of surgeons.
Dr. Cho continues to maintain an active clinical practice. He believes remaining a practicing surgeon provides an essential perspective as Paradigm continues to develop the next generation of surgeons and practices.
Dr. Cho is married to his wife, Casey, whom he met in dental school, and they have two children, Phillip and Erin.
